The Purpose of this Blog
A place to connect, share and inspire one another. For those of us who were in Rebekah Home for Girls or any of the other Lester Roloff homes, there is no doubt much to share of what we experienced and how we have overcome.

  1. “What do you know about Lester Roloff and the abuse in his homes? Was he guilty of sexual abuse?”......."There was also an incident where five girls from the Rebekah Home attempted to kill another girl in the Roloff home in order to draw attention to the abuse. Roloff referred to them, in jest, as ‘my little murderers’ and went on record as saying he did not regret NOT calling the police."

    2. I was there during that time too...(78/79) out of the 180 girls there, I was one of the 33 left that got put on a bus at night and was taken to Mississippi then Georgia when the SWAT team was threatening to come in and close Rebekah down and put us in TYC...no fond memories of that place, other than the few friends I made there at the time. I am glad you are doing well now, so am I.

  3. Ladies, hoping this is still active. I am looking for someone, who might have been runaway from Rebekah. She would have been there probably in 1980, before she ran. She is an unidentified Jane Doe from 1980. The stories she told to people the day before she was found dead, is why some think she may have run from there. She might have talked about someone in prison she wanted to see. Since she asked witness for directions to prison unit.
Please contact me if you get this. I have pictures that I would love for you to look at. lagann2002@yahoo.com

    1. There is no evidence that this is a true story or in anyway connected to Roloff's home.

  6. Hello, My name is Eris Alexandria Jones, I have changed my first and middle name legally, just because I preferred a different name. My name when I was in the home was Brenda Jones. I was one of the girls in the Rebekah home for girls for, around two years from 1974 to 1976 approximately. I had a really abusive home life so I managed to get myself put in there. I know everybody complains about the abuse but to tell you the truth I didn't feel abused at not compared to what I was use too. I did not want to go back home, but I did miss my freedom, freedom just to walk outside when you wanted. Freedom to open a window when you want, there were alarms on the doors solid thickest doors I've ever seen., windows barricaded shut no way they would come open. We went outside when they gave us work out routines and then we could hang out afterwards for a while, on the black top. It was fenced in prison style no different. I guess it would have been really hot out but the wind blew really hard in Corpus Christi, Texas, so hard your hair would be up in the air all the time, it was nice, the weather I mean, kind of comfortable because of the breeze. I just want to say a few things, that's all. I have wondered about some of the girls that I befriended while I was there, esp. Brenda Summers and Mary Worley, my two best friends during that time. Thank you for listening I need this. God bless you all.

  7. I'm looking for a friend my first wife had when at Rebekah 1972-73. Her name was Barbara Moyer. She had some horrific stories to tell from her time there. But always mentioned her friend there. Unfortunately I can not remember her name. If anyone remembers her let me know. Thanks
